As a supplier of industrial roller guards, we recommend that you follow these 3 tips to ensure that your roller guard works as intended.
Tip #1: Calculate Your Duty Cycle
- For your roller guard to last a long time you need to know how often is going to cycle. A cycle is defined by the number of times that the roller will extend and retract. One complete extension and one complete retraction is one complete cycle. You'll want to inform us how often the roller is cycling so that it can be supplied with a roller assembly that can handle the frequency of cycles.Failure to do so will result in the breakdown of the assembly.
Tip #2: Measure Twice and Order Once
- It is rare, but not unlikely that someone will order their industrial roller guard with the wrong dimensions. It is very important that you measure the length and the width correctly so that when you take possession of the guard it will fit properly and function correctly.
Tip #3: Evaluate the Environment
- The most common application for using these roller guards is to protect people or product from flying debris. Another common application is to use them for protecting hands and feet from dangerous moving parts. For both of these applications a standard 18 ounce vinyl is ideal. However, if the environment that you will be using the guarding in this extremely hot, cold, wet, or extremely dirty then we need to know the so that the correct type of material can be sourced. failure to do so could result in premature wear of the material and a complete failure of the industrial roller guard.
