As a supplier of retractable pit covers for floors, we can offer the following advice to make sure your installation is safe and effective.

When you are searching for a walk on retractable pit cover, you should take into consideration the following:

1. How much weight will the floor pit cover have to endure? This is critical information that we will need to know to ensure that the cover does not collapse due to the structure not being strong enough to support the weight. Also, it is important to note what will be moving across the cover.

2. What is the total length and width of the floor opening? for a retractable pit cover to be properly installed, it is important that the exact opening size be provided.

3. Is there enough room for the roll up pit cover? You will need to ensure that there is enough space for the roller when it is completely wound up with the flexible steel plates. Generally, this is not a problem as it can be located towards the bottom of the pit on one side.

4. How often will the retractable pit cover open and close? Most applications will require the covers to open and close only a few times a day. However, if your application calls for a more frequent opening and closing, then we will need to supply the proper type of retractable roller to endure a more frequent use.
